Some foods are better for achieving a beautiful complexion than others. Here’s a simple list of foods which are ageing & those that are great for your skin. Hint: The usual suspects (foods that bad for your face) are on the right 🙂
Dry skin and how to fix it from within:
Are you deficient in fatty acids? You might be if you’re on a low fat diet.
Cutting out oil and fats from your daily diet could be making your skin look dry and dull, something that’s made worse during the cold winter weather; this is mainly because of the wind and central heating. Common signs you may need to up your oil intake include: dry skin, dull hair, soft nails, bumpy skin on the back of arms, dry eyes and poor sleep…
Try eating these foods to help make your skin look and feel better when it’s becoming dry:
If you’ve had a heavy night and are now suffering from the dreaded ‘puffy eyes and dark under-eye circles’, try using raw potato slices to soothe your eyes. They’ll help reduce under-eye puffiness because they’re an astringent, (this helps to decrease any water retention which can cause puffiness), and they also contain catalase enzyme which helps lighten dark under-eye circles.
Simply wash and peel a potato. Cut two slices and place one slice on each eye for 15 minutes. Lay down, chill out and let the potatoes work their magic to help refresh and revive your eyes. Rinse the eye area clean gently afterwards.
Energy is beautiful; Have you got enough of it?
Being energetic and having a lust for life is a beautiful thing. That sparkle in your eye can disappear however if you’re feeling lacklustre and a shadow of your former self!
Feeling drained will always stop you from doing what you want to do and can slow you down. Start the day off pepped up with something delicious like this quick smoothie to give you back your energy and feed your sparkle!

You may have heard rave reviews about how delicious coconut water is, but do you know how amazing it is for your face and body?
One of the best things about it is that it reduces food cravings, keeping your weight down with enzymes to aid digestion, and letting you lose weight without your wanting to binge on cakes or chips!
It also keeps you hydrated, keeping your skin looking smooth and nourished with beautifying vitamins. Not only that, but coconut water is fat free and anti-inflammatory (good news for those who suffer from acne or psoriasis).
